Statement | The International Beethoven Project, a Not-for-Profit multi-disciplinary arts organization founded in 2008 in Chicago, is thrilled to participate in the Beethoven Pastoral Project in 2020 to help raise awareness of environmental issues and to be part of the solution to the climate crisis through music, the arts, and creativity.
We believe that arts institutions along with artists and musicians of all disciplines can help bring attention, focus, and positive solutions to the climate issues we are facing as humanity. Beethoven’s love of nature can serve as a guide as we seek to reconnect with Mother Earth, through his good habits of daily walks in nature, observation, feeling and listening, and in the ways he translated what he sensed through music.
The International Beethoven Project (IBP) will curate events, music and art to highlight the role of creatives in making this world healthier throughout the year of Beethoven’s 250th Birthday.
