We live in a time in which societies fragment along political lines and science and the science of climate change no longer provides a universally accepted basis for answering the political, ethical and philosophical questions facing our generation.

Music can play a significant role in unifying our societies by providing a universal language that transcends political persuasion.  It unifies us in the community of music-making and with our audiences.  It provides us with an alternative access to our connectedness with the environment and oneness with nature.

The Beethoven Pastoral Project is a wonderful opportunity not only to celebrate Beethoven’s universally recognised genius, but also to join hands with organisations around the world to celebrate the power that music can have over the conscience of our times.
