The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra is delighted to unite with participants around the world for the Pastoral Project. The natural world was a place of reflection and wonder for Beethoven, and today through his music we can inspire in audiences a responsibility to protect the environment and safeguard the future of the planet. Oxford is a global centre for knowledge, learning and research, and at the heart of our contribution to the Pastoral Project will be a focus on the most recent climate change issues and their relation to Beethoven’s ‘Pastoral’ Symphony, presented with leading climate change experts.
