Bonn IT expert is committed to climate protection

With his IT consulting company axxessio, Dr. Goodarz Mahbobi was one of the first supporters of the Beethoven Jubiläums GmbH. His team laid the foundation stone and implemented a globally available, stable web application with which the Beethoven Pastoral Project promotes climate protection.

“Actually, I was involved before BTHVN 2020 was even launched and had even actively supported the Festspielhaus,” says Mahbobi. “Beethoven stood for international understanding. This is very important to me because we are a very international company: we speak 15 languages.”

Mahbobi was also interested in Beethoven’s relationship with nature: “Beethoven not only had musical visions, but the environment was also very important to him.” In his sixth symphony, the Bonn composer described the relationship between man and nature. In long walks he collected inspirations for his great works.”

This vision motivates Mahbobi for his commitment to Beethoven’s anniversary: “There are two ways to get socially involved: One is by making money available – but also by using your own know-how.” Thus axxessio initiated the project “Digital Bonn” together with Lord Mayor Ashok Sridharan. Their goal: to digitize the administration of the city of Bonn, among others: “The entire axxessio team and I are proud to have initiated and carried out the Digital Bonn project. Digital Hub and Cyber Security Cluster Bonn are only two results of this project.”

“When it comes to climate protection, it doesn’t matter if a company is small or large. Everybody can contribute something,” says Mahbobi. axxessio has therefore long since avoided unnecessary air travel and issued its employees with train cards. The company also helps its employees to lease job bikes and e-bikes: “The employees are also very much involved. That makes me very proud that it has met with broad approval from everyone.”

Mahbobi is optimistic about the future: “Germany is a country of ideas and small and medium-sized enterprises, and I believe that the small and medium-sized enterprises, the entrepreneurs and the population are realizing the vision of a climate-friendly society with great ideas”.
